Altai Eagle Festival Tour

DAY 1 ( SEP 15 ) FLGHT TO ULGI & SHIVEET KHARIKHAN

Early morning fly to BayanUlgii and meet our team.So then we will have full day drive to Altai Tavanbogd National Park (means The Holy Five) via Tsagaan Gol (White river) valley also through Altai Mountains. That are Mongolia’s largest and highest mountain range more than 3000-4000 meters high. Also one famous spot is “Shiveet Hairhan” Sacred Mountain.

DAY 2 ( SEP 16 ) ALTAI TAVAN BOGD BASE CAMP

Today we’ll start our horse trip for 22 km toward the base camp of the snow-capped Tavanbogd massif.

DAY 3 ( Sep 17 ) KHURGAN KHOTON LAKE

Drive to Khoton and Khurgan lakes in the Altai Tavan Bogd national park . There many Tuvan nomads spend their summer. Also Lakes are crystal clear with fantastic views of Altai Mountains and fascinating Nomadic lifestyle.

DAY 5 ( Sep 19 ) EAGLE FESTIVAL

10:00 Opening ceremony, introductions, Eagle Hunting history and practice. 10:30 Parade of all participants

11:00-13:00 Fox Skin The real test of a hunter’s ability, Eagles must catch a fox skin dragged behind their trainer’s horse

13:00-14:00 Break for lunch

14:00-16:00 Fox Skin . The real test of a hunter’s ability, Eagles must catch a fox skin dragged behind their trainer’s horse.

14:00-16:00 Archery Same time will be started Western Mongolian Archery Competition. Archery people will shoot from bow to balls and goat skins on horse back

16:00-17:00 Kyz Kuar A race between a man and woman on horseback 17:00-18:00 Bushkashi – Tug of war played on horseback with killed goat, common throughout Central Asia

18:00-18:30 Tiyn Teru – Riders compete to pick up flags or flowers from the ground during the race

DAY 6 ( Sep 20 ) EAGLE FESTIVAL

10:00-13:00 Eagle Call Tests hunter’s ability to ‘call’ Eagle to their horse from a distance

13:00-14:00 Break for lunch 14:00-15:00 Camel Race 6kms It is one most funny and interesting game.Camel riders can be women and men.

15:00-16:00 Tiyn Teru – Riders compete to pick up flags or flowers from the ground during the Race.

16:00-17:00 . Bushkashi – Tug of war played on horseback with killed goat, common throughout Central Asia.

Altai eagle festival tour

The Altai Eagle Festival 2020 or smaller Eagle Festival will take place in the traditional village of Sagsai. This festival is being held on September 19th and 20th and has a quainter feel than the Golden Eagle Festival, but not any less exciting! Also it is a festival to demonstrate the culture of the Kazakhs to the world. And they promote their heritage to their next generations. During the Eagle festival, the Kazakh falconers honour their cultural heritage and compete. The Eagle Festival is a must-see event in Asia, particularly in Mongolia.

Altai Tavan bogd

Altai Tavan Bogd is a national park in Bayan-Ölgii Province of Western Mongolia. The meaning of the name is Five Saints of Altai. The Huiten Peak is the highest point of Mongolia at 4374 meters above sea level. And this area’s climate is extremely unpredictable. Thus, you may observe four seasons in one day: The sun will shine, and then it may snow or rain. In 1996, this area officially became a protected National Park. Things to do here include : Climbing; Mountain trekking; Camel and Horse trekking, and Experiencing about the Kazakh culture.
