Brief About Sagsai Eagle Festival Tour

The Annual Golden Eagle Festival, which began in 1999, is the world’s largest gathering of eagle hunters and their eagles. It celebrates the ancient tradition of eagle hunting practiced by the Kazakh people in the region. Every October, tourists and photographers from around the world come to witness this extraordinary event.

During the festival, hunters and their trained golden eagles compete in various events. They showcase their skills by releasing eagles from a hilltop to hunt prey, usually a fox skin dragged by the trainers on horseback. The eagles’ speed and accuracy in catching the prey are judged.

In addition to eagle hunting, the festival features Kazakh cultural events such as music, dance performances, and exhibitions of traditional crafts and costumes.
