Day 1 Baga gazariin chuluu

Baga Gazariin Chuluu, in the Middle Gobi province, is a rocky mountain area about 15 by 10 kilometers in size. It rises steeply from the flat land around it, creating a beautiful and interesting view. Visitors can explore small caves, old rock pictures, and a natural spring that many believe helps improve vision. There are also remains of a peaceful place where monks once came to meditate. As part of the Budget Gobi Tour, this stop offers a nice mix of nature, history, and calm surroundings. It’s also great for walking, taking photos, and peaceful.

Day 2 Yol Valley

Yol Valley is a beautiful, narrow valley in Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park in Mongolia. It is surrounded by tall cliffs and amazing rock shapes, creating a stunning view. As you walk through the valley, you’ll see high cliffs and narrow paths. Along the way, you might even find a glacier that stays until the end of June. In addition to the natural beauty, you can enjoy a peaceful hike and take photos of the valley’s breathtaking views and local animals. All in all, it’s a perfect place for nature lovers to explore and relax.

Day 3 Khongor sand dunes

Next on our budget Gobi tour, we visit the Khongor Sand Dunes—one of the largest sand dunes in Mongolia. These dunes stretch over 180 kilometers, and the tallest ones can reach up to 800 meters high. Climbing to the top can be tough, but the wide views of the desert are worth it. While you’re here, you can also ride the rare two-humped Bactrian camels. It’s a fun and special part of any budget Gobi tour. Camel riding 1h

Day 4 Bayanzag- experience Budget Gobi Tour

Today, we will drive to Bayanzag, also called the Flaming Cliffs. This place is famous for its history and amazing dinosaur fossils. It’s also where the first dinosaur eggs were found. An American explorer named Roy Chapman Andrews came here on a trip and gave the cliffs their name. The red-orange rocks shine brightly, especially during sunset. As we explore, you’ll see the same beautiful views that made this place so special.

Day 5 Tsagaan Suvarga

Our budget Gobi desert tour brings us to Tsagaan Suvarga, also called the “White Stupa.” Tsagaan Suvarga is a vivid cliff rising from the desert, full of fossils and layered stone. The vivid colors and peaceful surroundings make it perfect for hiking and photography. As the sun moves, the cliffs change shade, making them feel extra magical—especially at sunrise and sunset. You can walk around the cliffs. The paths wind up and down the slopes.

Day 6 Terelj National Park

Gorkhi Terelj is one of the most visited and interesting parks of Mongolia. Our first stop is Turtle Rock, a massive granite formation that looks just like a turtle. It’s about 24 meters tall and is a favorite spot for photos. Next, we will head to the Ariyabal Meditation Temple, located about 3 km from Turtle Rock. This Buddhist temple sits atop a hill and offers stunning views of the surrounding area. Horse riding 1h

About Budget Gobi Tour

It’s perfect for travelers seeking a real and unique experience. Throughout the journey, you’ll stay with local nomadic families in traditional gers (yurts) and enjoy home-cooked meals. This provides a firsthand look at how nomads live day-to-day. Additionally, the tour offers stunning views of the Gobi Desert’s vast landscapes. As you travel, you’ll learn about Mongolian traditions, animal herding, and life in the natural world. Moreover, you’ll observe how nomads live simply, with strong family bonds and a deep respect for the land. If you’re okay with a bit less comfort and desire a meaningful experience, the Budget Gobi Tour is a great choice. Ultimately, it’s not about luxury; it’s about culture, connection, and making special memories.

Where do you stay during the Budget Gobi Tour?

During the Nomadic Tour Mongolia, you will spend 4 nights in extra gers provided by local nomadic families and 2 nights in standard ger camps.

Ger Guesthouses (gers provided by local nomadic families)

Some nomadic families living in national parks or tourist areas run small businesses that rent out gers to travelers. This gives you a great chance to experience their lifestyle up close.
On our budget tours, you’ll stay in a traditional Ger Guesthouse. Typically, these have 4 to 6 beds and are shared only with other members of your tour group—not with strangers.
However, please note that most nomadic families don’t have formal toilets at their summer camps. The best you might find is a basic outdoor toilet, with walls on three sides for privacy. Also, some nomadic families’ gers may not have any shower facilities.

Standard Ger Camps

Standard Ger Camps are like hotels, but instead of rooms, you sleep in a Ger. These camps are usually near famous places.
A Standard Ger has 2 to 4 single beds, a small table, a stove to keep warm, and sometimes a a shelf or a small sink. However, there is no bathroom inside the ger. You will use clean toilets and hot showers in another building nearby. Additionally, there is also a place to eat, and sometimes a small bar or game room.
Some camps have Ensuite Gers. These have a private bathroom inside the ger. If you want this type, please tell us. We can book it for you, but it costs extra.
