Altai Tavan Bogd
Altai Tavan Bogd is a national park in Bayan-Ölgii Province of Western Mongolia. The meaning of the name is Five Saints of Altai. Those five peaks are Khuiten (4374m), Nairamdal (4082m), Burged (4068m) and Ulgii(4050m). And there are 250 big and small glaciers which cover an area of 514 sq km. Some big rivers of Central Asian Basin such as Khovd River, Tsagan River begin from Altai Tavan Bogd Mountain. Also there are many historical sites, Tsagaan Salaa rock paintings, Khar yamat river man stone, group memorial of Gants mod spring etc. Rock paintings are about 1000 and it’s not only Mongolia’s biggest, but also central Asia’s biggest ancient people’s complex gallery.
And this area’s climate is extremely unpredictable. Thus, you may observe four seasons in one day: The sun will shine, and then it may snow or rain.
